Emergency and humanitarian aid is coordinated within the frame of the Catalan Committee of Humanitarian and Emergency Aid, and its main aim is to contribute from the city to the tasks of post- natural catastrophe and/or armed conflict reconstruction in coordination with the United Nations as well as other Catalan administrations.

The Catalan Committee of Humanitarian and Emergency Aid is a quick response instrument against emergencies and huge humanitarian catastrophes. As well as working in this field of action within the frame of the Catalan Committee of Humanitarian and Emergency Aid, the Barcelona City Council funds projects of humanitarian aid together with other specialised bodies from the city of Barcelona.
