To improve the living conditions of Carrer Barcelona residents by renovating properties on the street and setting up a cultural centre.
Results
  1. Comprehensive restoration of all the properties on Carrer Barcelona.
  2. Setting up of the Barcelona-Havana centre.
  3. Durable renovation.
Principal actions

Comprehensive restoration (façades, roofs and communal elements) of the 12 properties to undergo alterations. Parc Barcelona to be redeveloped and work also to be carried out on the street and street lighting.

Special attention to be paid to the restoration of street number 63, which is in a deplorable state and is to house the Barcelona-Havana centre.

Memory

After two years of negotiation, an agreement was signed in 2005 and work started in March 2006. Over the course of the last three years, more alterations were made to the properties than was first planned. This is a pioneer project in the extent to which standard Barcelona protocols and procedures were used.

The project was completed in March 2009.
