TAKE UP THE CHALLENGE, IF YOU HAVE A NOSE FOR IT! Train for the Nose Race with Rosa Morató and Pol Guillén.

The Sports Association CORREDORS.CAT, together with the corporate race sponsor, NEW BALANCE, have come up with a new challenge: train for the 2011 Cursa dels Nassos alongside top Catalan athletes ROSA MORATÓ and POL GUILLÉN, with ongoing, personalized training for all training session participants.

This challenge is open to everyone, with a limit of 200 athletes, of which 75 places are reserved for Corredors.cat.

Participation Conditions:

For all athletes associated with Corredors.cat, registration will take place in order of application, until the pre-established limit of 75 runners is reached. Beyond this number of applications all requests will go onto a waiting list.

For runners not associated with Corredors.cat, all you have to do is register for the Cursa dels Nassos 2011, after which all applications will be accepted in the order they are received.

The initial objective is to reserve 50% of the spots for women and 50% for men.

Regardless of this percentage distribution of participants from both genders, Corredors.cat can modify the criteria if during the registration process there are free spots available for either gender. So that the minimum number of interested athletes end up without the right to participate, once the number limit has been reached a waiting list will be set up in case of cancellations.

Registration

Runners associated with Corredors.cat have free registration, though they will be required to send an email to esports@corredors.cat, including their nickname on the website forum and their personal race time goal for this year's Cursa dels Nassos.

Runners not associated will have to register on the Forum of Corredors.Cat and must send to the same email address (esports@corredors.cat) their race registration receipt, together with the nickname chosen for the forum when registering, along with their personal time objective for this year's race.

How the challenge works

Once the athlete's request has been accepted, he or she will be given access to a private area of the forum which will allow communication between Rosa Morató, Pol Guillén, those in charge of the project and participating athletes.

Morató and Guillén will design a training plan for each identified group which will be posted in the private area of the forum referred to each week, so that it can be correctly followed and commented on the threads prepared for the project.

The training groups will be organized on the basis of times that runners are seeking to accomplish, in the following groups: Under 40', Under 42', Under 45', Under 50', Under 55' and Under 60'

Pol Guillén will guide the progress of the first three groups, up to the Under 45 minute group, while Rosa Morató will guide the progress of the last three groups.

Within each of these training groups there will be pace-setters from Corredors-cat who will participate on race day, as well as taking part in the preparatory process.

Training sessions

There will be three in-person training sessions with Morató, Guillén and the pace-setters for each group, so as to get to know them better and have personal contact with the trainer, aside from the virtual contact available through the online forum. This will also be an opportunity to improve group dynamics.

The sessions will take place in Barcelona and will be held on the following days:

November 12, at the Mar Bella Athletics Track, under the direction of Guillén and Morató, along with the pace-setters.

December 3, (site to be determined) with the pace-setters of each group.

December 17, at the Can Dragó Athletics Track, under the direction of Guillén and Morató, along with the pace-setters.

In all sessions there will be a clothing locker service offered by the Barcelona Sport Institute of the City of Barcelona.

The training plan will begin on November 7th, and will allow for 8 weeks of specific preparation so as to meet the set objectives.
