Great Lake

Ciutadella Park

A large lake covering a sizeable part of park’s esplanade. It is supplied with groundwater from a well and it has a recirculation system which reduces the amount of water sourcing needed and maintains the lake in optimum conditions.

The lake is surrounded by very rich vegetation where various species of waterfowl live together (including ducks, wild geese, gulls, etc.). Among this vegetation is a tree with a particularly beautiful shape, the Bald Cypress, common name for Taxodium distichum. This species only grows in water and reaches gigantic dimensions in the United States.

There is also a rental service for rowing boats.
